Mark is a native of Kansas City, youth ministry moved him and his young family to a church in the Jackson area almost 30 years ago.  Now he and Leah have celebrated 36 years together and have seen their three adult children grow, go and flourish in their respective careers. One daughter and son in-law have blessed them with a grandson that brings immense joy to the family.

Mark and Leah made their home in Grand Rapids almost 10 years ago and has served in various roles in the advancement offices of two evangelical universities in west Michigan.  He is now blessed to be the Director of Philanthropy at The Epoch Times, a non-profit independent media group.  Epoch has grown to become the 4th largest independent newspaper by subscription.

Although Mark is no longer in vocational ministry, he continues to stay active in the men’s ministry in his local church, has served as a Bible Study Fellowship small group leader and is currently volunteering at Alpha Grand Rapids serving in the Jobs For Life program.  Mark also serves on the board of directors.  Alpha GR is a wonderful donor funded resource for young parents that have an unexpected pregnancy.

In his spare time Mark enjoys golf, hiking, splitting wood and most things outdoors; especially if it’s with the family.  And yes, he is also a diehard Kansas City sports fan wearing Royal Blue in the summer and red in the fall…Go Chiefs!
